Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL)

We wanted to remind you about Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (“CASL”).  As you might be aware, CASL has been in force since July 1, 2014 and pertains to all communications sent in Canada and to recipients located in Canada.  The private right of action, which will allow private lawsuits to be initiated by affected individuals and companies, is anticipated to come into effect shortly so we wanted to ensure that your company is aware of the relevant obligations stipulated in CASL.

This will affect your company even if it is not based in Canada but you use TRP to send commercial electronic messages (CEMs) to any of your customers who are within Canada.

Under the obligations of CASL, it is your responsibility to make sure that you have obtained consent from your members before sending them a CEM. Click here for more information on CASL and how it might apply to you.

If you do send CEMs via any TRP product to your customers in Canada please contact you coach at as soon as possible so that we can help ensure your use of TRP products complies with the law.
